Welcome to the first 2024 edition of the BlueSKY Bulletin. In this quarter’s bulletin, you can discover everything that’s been happening in the BlueSKY team over the last three months.
In this edition, read about some exam success, meet two new additions to BlueSKY, and find out what the rest of the team has been up to this spring.
Professional standards – Exam success
We continue to celebrate exam success within the team, and we congratulate every member of our staff who strives to improve their technical knowledge through passing an exam or assessment.
Nick passed his AF6 (Senior Management and Supervision) advanced exam. Next up will be the J10 and J12 exams, which lead to the AF4 Investment Planning exam.
These are all steps towards Nick becoming a Chartered Financial Planner – well done to Nick for passing one of the advanced exams.
Newest member of staff
We’re all thrilled that Mike and his wife Harriet are expecting a second child. Congratulations to both of them and we look forward to welcoming their new addition in the summer.
We also welcome Imogen Turner (Immy), who has joined our client services team.
Immy has worked in the financial services sector for more than five years and has already proved herself to be a valuable addition to our team.
2024 Resolution Financial Planning on Separation Conference
One of our key specialist areas of expertise is in sharing pensions on divorce. For many years, pensions were overlooked when dividing matrimonial assets and it is only in the last two decades that greater focus has been made on the fair split of pensions.
This can be a very complex area and BlueSKY are seen as being one of the foremost experts in the UK.
Resolution is a community that brings together 6,500 professionals who strive to make the divorce process as pain-free as possible. All our advisers are members of Resolution and Rob is one of a very small number of Resolution Accredited Specialists, marking him out as a true expert in the area of pension sharing on divorce.
In March, Rob and Mike attended the Resolution 2024 Financial Planning on Separation Conference in Birmingham and Rob participated in a round table discussion with fellow Pension on Divorce Experts (PODEs).
BlueSKY embraces new technology
In the financial services industry, things change at a rapid pace, and we need to ensure we keep up with advances in technology. By doing this, we can service our clients more efficiently and future-proof our business.
The latest development has seen BlueSKY moving from a traditional, hardware-based telephone system to the telephone services offered by Microsoft Teams.
Although invisible to our clients, Teams offers a more flexible and nimble approach and allows every staff member to work anywhere in the world and still be able to utilise the telephone system as if they were in Lower Earley.
We are continuing to invest and use best-in-class technology to deliver a high-quality and responsive service to our clients.
It’s not all work, work, work at BlueSKY
Here’s Jack and his partner Ruth spending a “relaxing” time cycling mile after mile in Lanzarote.
