Your journey

Getting your entire personal and financial life in order with the help of a professional sounds complicated. But it doesn’t have to be, when you follow our simple step-by-step process.

01

Get in touch

Whether it’s phone, email or via our website, get in touch – we’re here to help.

If you outline what you need assistance with, we’ll set up a call to discuss your situation and to explain how we work with new clients.

02

Initial phone call

A member of our team will call you to find out more about your circumstances and understand what you need help with. If we believe that we can help, we’ll outline what the next steps will be and what we’ll need from you. Sadly, we can’t help everyone, but we’ll always try and signpost a way forward.

03

Your homework

If we establish that we can help you, we’ll explain how we work, the fees involved, and the next steps. Before any first meeting, we’ll set you some homework so we can maximise our time with you. You’ll be asked to send us a summary of your financial position, provide some basic personal information, and importantly, tell us some of the things you want to achieve from working together.

04

Our first meeting

Our first meeting is at our cost. While there’s no obligation to proceed, it’s important that we both arrive at the meeting knowing there could be value in us working together. Together, we’ll spend a lot more time getting to know one another. Our advisers will also demonstrate how our financial planning software, cashflow modelling, can really bring your finances to life by looking into your financial future.

05

Engaging formally

After our first meeting, we’ll send you a clarification letter to confirm the proposed work and the benefits of this to you. Importantly, this will document the costs for our services. Everything at Bluesky starts with a financial plan – a bespoke piece of work tailored to your exact circumstances. At this point, you aren’t committing to a long-term relationship.

As further homework, we’ll ask you to complete additional questionnaires and to provide authorisation for any existing plans.

06

Cashflow meeting

Once we’ve gathered sufficient information, it’ll be time for another meeting. During this, we’ll discuss our initial findings, and spend time adjusting the cashflow modelling to ensure all your future aspirations are correctly reflected in the work we’re doing. This meeting will help us to hone the report and concentrate on the right priorities.

The meeting also focuses on roleplaying different outcomes to understand the implications of one solution over another.

07

Presenting the financial plan

Following on from our cashflow meeting, we’ll get to work on finalising your bespoke financial planning report. Our report will set out your goals, provide our analysis on your existing assets, and outline what actions you could take to improve your situation. Then, it’ll be time for another meeting. Your adviser will make sure any questions you have are answered to your satisfaction, and we’ll expand on any items that require a deeper explanation.

08

Next steps

After presenting your financial plan, we reach a “fork in the road.” For some clients, delivery of the financial plan will be the end of the journey with Bluesky (but perhaps only for the time being). For many clients, though, the journey will continue as you’ll want Bluesky to implement the actions outlined in the financial plan, and you see the value of working together on an ongoing basis.

09

Ongoing partnership

Putting a plan in place is a great start, but things will change and your plan will need to be reviewed regularly. Changes in your life, changes to legislation, and changes to your plans will all need to be considered. Working with a financial planner will make sure your financial plan is adapted to consider whatever life may throw at you.

What clients say

When you’re trying to choose which financial planning firm to work with, there’s no substitute for hearing from others pleased with their decision. Here’s what some of our valued clients have to say about us.
