Here’s another way we’re improving the service we offer you and your clients

Over the last six months, we are pleased to say that we have managed to maintain our service standards, despite the challenges that we have faced.

Not only has this included working from home for most of this period, but we have also had to deal with pension administration teams who are also home-based. This has meant longer than standard turnaround times for providing the information we need for our reports.

We have seen a dramatic increase in Pension Sharing report requests which is likely to have been driven by the excellent PAG report which was issued last year. There is also some evidence that ‘lockdown’ has increased the number of people seeking a divorce.

We have spoken in previous articles about how you can help us to make the process even more efficient for you. We also explained the sort of information we need in order to provide you with an accurate quote, and the information we need to get cracking on the case.

As a demonstration of our commitment to producing pension sharing reports in good time, we have recently taken on another technical expert to help us with our report writing and analysis.

Meet Nick Harper, our new paraplanner

Our paraplanners create, prepare, and implement our clients’ financial plans and advice as well as providing invaluable technical support in areas such as tax, legislation, and products.

Nick has worked in the finance industry for more than five years. He began as an administrator, before moving into client servicing and paraplanning. Nick holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Dip PFS) and brings a wealth of knowledge and client service to the team.

Despite his career choice, Nick didn’t set out to be a paraplanner! He takes up the story: “I studied archaeology at university and continued to do a Masters in the Ancient Near East. I enjoy my history and love exploring historic sites in my spare time.”

Nick’s main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out financial research
  • Gathering client information and ensuring this is accurate and regularly updated
  • Preparing analytical reports
  • Supporting our financial planners.

When not helping BlueSKY clients or indulging his passion for the past, Nick spends his time keeping an eye on his football team (Chelsea), travelling, socialising, and playing board games with friends and family.

How our team ensure you receive a great service

While our clients primarily deal with one of our financial planners, the wider BlueSKY team are the beating heart of our business. Together, our administrators and paraplanners ensure that everything runs smoothly, from collating information to creating reports. They provide vital support to both our clients and financial planners.

Nick and our team of paraplanners play an important role. The support they provide ensures our planners have the time to spend with clients and are able to provide the high level of personal attention our clients tell us they appreciate.

We feel that the addition of Nick Harper to our team will enable us to maintain our current service standards, take on more cases and, as the world gradually returns to normal over the next few months, to hopefully reduce the turnaround times further.
